about kerin greville
I live and work beside the picturesque Clive River in sunny Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. An inspiring location indeed.
For most of the last 25 years I have been involved in art education. teaching Visual Arts in a number of New Zealand secondary schools. I have also exhibited my work, collecting several awards for painting and photography, including a Norsewear Merit Award in 2003. My artwork has also featured on the cover of the Hawke's Bay's phone book not once but three times!
I have travelled extensively, mainly in Europe, living and working in England and France, where I was inspired by the myriad of flowers on display at the markets, numerous visits to Monet's garden in Giverny, and the soft, prettiness of English country gardens.
I have always loved flowers ~ their textures and subtle shifts of colour and form that reflect the beauty of each season and the wonders of nature. Their symbolic meanings and their intrinsic connections with the circle of life.
And so as an artist, flowers have become my new media.
Working with flowers that are grown in New Zealand ~ many here in Hawke's Bay, I am constantly adding to my own garden as I discover blooms and leaves that I love to use in my work. My flowers are fresh and beautiful.
Each bouquet and arrangement is unique.
